The 500 cruzeiros of the early 1980s tells of the birth of the republic: its first president, Marshal Manuel Deodoro da Fonseca, on the front and, on the back, a group of republican legislators, a detail of a historical painting.
The Banco Central do Brasil series of the early 1980s was printed at the Casa da Moeda do Brasil and circulated until the 1986 currency reform, when the cruzado replaced the cruzeiro at a thousand to one. Type P200 was printed in 1981 and 1985; the varieties differ in their signatures.
For «presidents» or «birth of the republic» sets both sides serve one theme, and in a Brazil collection the note continues the Deodoro line begun on the 20 and 50 cruzeiros of earlier decades. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
Other paper money items from the same country or on the same theme are in the VPcoins catalogue.
